Exercise as a Habit
Exercise is just part of the deal. It’s not somewhere you arrive. Or necessarily a goal you accomplish. It’s just part of the deal. Part of how you live. Part of what you do. And if you can make it pleasurable on an intrinsic level (because it feels good, because it IS good) versus an extrinsic level (looking good, losing weight blahblahblah) then friend, you.have.dialed.it.in.
Exercise is just something you do. You just kinda work it in – like eating your breakfast and brushing your teeth. You just do it.
And it doesn’t have to be a BIG.FREAKING.DEAL.
Go for a walk. Lift some things. Dance around your kitchen. Remember jumping jacks and toe touches? Throw a few of those in with some Abba and you have yourself a workout. Park far away from the Target entrance. Take the stairs.
My point is this…
Move. In. A. Way. That. Pleases. You.
And do it like a habit. Seek it out. Create space for it. It doesn’t have to be a burpee…it can be a walk around the block. Just move with regularity. And then do it again the next day. And the day after that.
